It has been announced that Sting will play in Sofia in June accompanied by a symphony orchestra he has previously played in Sofia and Nessabar.Shakira has announced some eastern european dates but, as yet, none in Bulgaria.I will keep an eye out for further announcements.

This is the latest musical offering from Slavi Trifonov, Bulgaria's answer to Michael Parkinson, or David Letterman. Its spectacularly gory and over the top. Spartacus meets Snoop Dog..or something !.
Cost of a weeks shopping in Bulgaria
I have mentioned before that it is comparatively cheap to live in Bulgaria.Here as an illustration is my shopping extravaganza this morning at Penny Market in Balchik :

2.5 L Cola
2 pieces of chicken
0.5 Kilo mince meat
Large Pizza
Pork Loins
7 Tins of beans, peas, pate etc
3 tins ready meals
1 belt (says leather)
tomatoes, peppers, potatoes
Bread and baguettes
Salami
Bottle of Vodka
2 L of wine
Chicken Schnitzels
1 bottle of red wine
1 L of cooking oil
Total 64 leva/33 Euro/28 GBP

I placed this link on as soon as I saw it.However I checked in detail this morning and, when you put it your holiday preferences, it just draws a blank.This is supposed to be a new promotion.Who do they employ at Balkan Holidays ?, monkeys ?. There is no point in me placing information like this on the blog when it turns out to be a red herring.I am not impressed.
