Many of you will have read about the Bulgarian property boom and latterly decline.It's true to say that the 'gold rush' of 2004-2007 brought out the worst in a lot of people. My comparison is this ; a few years ago lawyers were doing very well so everyone was a lawyer, then the property market was doing very well, so everyone was an estate agent or a builder.In Bulgaria, if astronauts were doing well every Bulgarian would try and be an astronaut !.
As a consequence a lot of people got their fingers burnt, primarily when the international property market collapsed, or they were cheated by a dodgy builder or agent.
It is now 2011 however, and there is light at the end of the tunnel.The agents and builders left around after this will be those who were not 'fly by nights' and far more able to give proper service.
