British Tourism to Revive in Bulgaria ?
The Bulgarian Tourist Authorities are flying in several UK Travel journalists to show them the best that Bulgaria's winter tourist delights can offer. This includes Bansko and Rila Monastery.
In 2010 300,000 British tourists visited Bulgaria and the target is 500,000. Obviously getting some travel hacks over here on a jolly up is a pretty good idea, but the Bulgarians are in fact simply playing 'catch-up' with UK holidaymakers. The UK market probably peaked in 2007 with the holiday home market, and the statistics quite clearly show that people who go on holiday to Bulgaria never come back for a second helping.Principally this is due to poor service and bad infrastructure.
Therefore until the service/infrastructure issues can be addressed the Travel writers will have a tough time selling Bulgaria to those who have been before.

This goes a long way to explain the Varna Bishop controversy. Most Eastern European churches were compromised under communism, and it is startling that even now there are power structures still in play protecting one another.

This is the unspoken war that has been going on to prevent the development of Iran's nuclear capacity.Scientists have been assassinated by mysterious car bombs which obviously emanate from Mossad or the C.I.A.
